📝 Grade Calculator
Enter each assignment/category with its score and weight (weights should add up to 100%).
Frequently Asked Questions
Weighted grade = Σ(grade × weight) ÷ Σ(weights). Example: if homework (30%) = 85, midterm (30%) = 78, final (40%) = 90: weighted average = (85×0.3) + (78×0.3) + (90×0.4) = 25.5 + 23.4 + 36 = 84.9.
Use the 'Final exam needed' feature: enter your current grade, the weight of the final exam, and your target course grade. The calculator tells you exactly what score you need. If the required score exceeds 100, it means the target grade is mathematically impossible.
Standard conversion: A (90–100%) = 4.0, B (80–89%) = 3.0, C (70–79%) = 2.0, D (60–69%) = 1.0, F (below 60%) = 0.0. Some schools use plus/minus grades for finer distinctions.
In most US colleges and universities, a D (60–69%) is the minimum passing grade for credit, but many programs require a C or higher. For graduate school, B (80%) or higher is typically required to receive credit.
