What is the Days Between Dates Calculator?

This page has two tools. The main calculator counts the exact total days, business days, weekend days, full weeks, and approximate months and years between a start and end date. Below it, the Countdown / Countup tool tracks the number of days until (or since) a single target date, labeled with whatever event name you give it.

How to Use It

For the date difference, enter a start and end date and click Calculate — results appear instantly, split into business days and weekend days along with the raw day, week, month, and year totals. For the countdown, enter a target date, type a label like "My Wedding" or "Product Launch," and click Set Countdown to see a live day count.

When to Use It

Yes. Every calculation automatically splits the total days into "Business Days" and "Weekends," so you can see both the full calendar span and the working-day count without needing to toggle anything.
The total is the number of days between the two dates, counted from midnight to midnight — so a start and end date one day apart returns 1. If you enter the dates in either order, the calculator automatically treats the earlier one as the start.
If your target date has already passed, it switches from "days remaining" to "days ago" and still shows the day count, so you can use it both to count down to a future date and to see how long ago a past date was.
