✏️ Edit PDF
What You Can Do
Add typed text anywhere on the page, insert and resize images (logos, stamps, photos), add a signature by drawing it with your mouse/finger or typing your name in a signature-style font, cover old content with a whiteout box, highlight text, draw boxes and lines for markup — then download a real, working PDF with everything baked in.
An Honest Note on Editing Existing Text
Click directly on any existing text in your PDF (with the Edit tool active) and it becomes editable right there — type your correction and click away. Behind the scenes, PDFs store text as fixed drawing instructions rather than editable words, so no browser-based tool can truly "rewrite" arbitrary glyphs. For plain text set in a standard font (Helvetica, Times or Courier) that isn't embedded in the file — common in simple, plainly-generated PDFs — we genuinely rewrite the underlying text itself, so the result is real, crisp, selectable text with no visible seam. For everything else (most PDFs exported from Word or Google Docs embed their own font, which only contains glyphs for the characters already on the page) we automatically fall back to sampling the exact background color behind that text and seamlessly covering it before drawing your new text in its place, so it still looks like a normal in-place edit. This works great on plain white or solid-color pages; on busy backgrounds (photos, gradients, patterned text boxes) a faint edge can occasionally be visible — if that happens, use the Whiteout and New Text tools to manually cover and retype instead.
An Honest Note on the Whiteout Tool
Whiteout draws an opaque box over content — genuinely useful for covering something before a screenshot, printout, or casual internal sharing. It does not strip the covered text out of the PDF's underlying data; the original text is still technically present in the file, just visually hidden. For anything you'd be worried about if someone bypassed the visual cover — legal documents, anything shared outside your organization, real financial or identity data — don't rely on whiteout alone. Flatten the page to an image first, or use a dedicated redaction tool built to guarantee removal.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens locally in your browser using JavaScript — your PDF never leaves your device.
Can I resize or move things after I place them?
Yes — switch to the Edit tool, drag an object to move it, or drag the small handle on its bottom-right corner to resize it.
Is my signature secure?
Your signature is drawn or typed locally and baked into the PDF you download — it's never sent to a server or stored anywhere.
